This "Cremona Factory" violin is a piece of violinmaking History. Nowadays cremona authority does everything to "protect" cremona of its handmade violin making fame. Nobody talks anymore about the violin making Factory which has existed almost 100 years ago. Aristide Fontanini who was born in Pizzighettone a few Kilometres out of Cremona started as a restorer for furniture. Later on  after a concert September 21st in 1946 he jumped on the stage and announced that he discovered the secret of Stradivari. Obviously this created a lot of rumours among makers and musicians, also because it has been the time while Simeone Sacconi started to write his famous book "the secret of Stradivari".

The wormed maple is a clear sign of the difficult years while this violin has been made with the help of machinery by Aristide Fontanini in 1937

a sprayed spirit varnish with a slight green brown appearance gives the final touch.

I think it is a nice collector item but I am surprised every time I listen to this violin how good it sounds.
